Working together

From first message to finished work, step by step

What to expect at each stage, so you always know what comes next.

What happens after you get in touch

  1. 1

    You send a message

Describe what you need and where you are with it. Rough notes are fine. If a detail is missing, you will be asked.

  2. 2

    We talk it through

You get a reply by email, and the conversation covers goals, constraints and what a good outcome looks like for you.

  3. 3

    You get a plan

Before work begins you are told what will be done, in what order, and what you need to provide.

  4. 4

    The work is carried out

You are kept informed as it progresses, and questions are answered as they come up.

  5. 5

    You get a clear account

At the end you receive a plain explanation of what was done, so you can use the result with confidence.

Questions people ask first

How do I get started?

Send a message through the contact page describing what you need. You will get a reply by email and the conversation continues from there.

Do I need to know exactly what I want?

No. Many people start with a rough idea or a problem rather than a brief. Working out the shape of it together is part of the first conversation.

Will I know what is happening during the work?

Yes. Keeping you informed is part of how the work is done, so you are not left waiting without news.

What about costs and timing?

These depend on what you need, so they are agreed as part of the plan before work begins rather than guessed at in advance.

What if I have more questions before deciding?

Ask them. A message with questions is a perfectly normal way to begin, and it commits you to nothing.

Ready to begin? Send the first message.

Tell us what you need and where you are with it. A short note is enough to begin.
